YOGI'S EMPORIUM

Welcome

I took a four day workshop with Lisa Engelbrecht in April of 2007. WOW is all I can say. A fabulous teacher, a wonderful person. The items below are things I created during these 2 workshops. The first two days was "Funky Lettering" the next two days was "Lettering on Fabric".

What I loved most was using Shmincke Metallic powders in my Gouache (It's the glitz in me I guess...). Especially the Gold. I have readily available Neuberg-e-ebel Metallic Leafing powders here in Calgary and I find they work just as well. They come in a ton of different colors too. The trick is to dust them onto your gouache instead of spooning it on (you want the metal stuff to float on top of the paint). Lisa used a piece of nylon stocking stretched over the opening and taped down to the sides of the jar. Works like a charm. We did lots of dropping colors into colors. Made our own broad edged nib with a yogurt container. Used flat edge brushes and Pentel Parallel Pens (6.0). Used Lumieres thinned down with water or Golden's airbrush medium (love that stuff), Pearlescent and acrylic inks, Shiva Oil Pastel Paint sticks, texture/rubbing plates, rubber stamps. All the different waterproof pens, colored pencils, watercolor pencils, Portfolio Water Soluble Oil Pastels, Gold & other colors Metal Leaf, Glue sticks and a ton of other things I can't remember. We used it all.
