Vintage

Collage on Fabric.

Vintage

I started off with a nice soft but sturdy material I had left over from a pant suit I made years ago (natural beige color). I used a rubbing plate with Shiva paint sticks, various watercolors, rubber stamped heart, Chip board letter "V" as a stencil and sprayed with Moon Glows. When everything was dry I used no sew iron on ribbon to hem the fabric and to glue down the ribbons. Wrote in the rest of the word for "Vintage" with a Pentel Parallel Pen (6.0) and a Lumiere Olive Green metallic paint. I love shadow outlining things, so I did it here again with an iridescent bronze gel pen. Glued the other collage items, sewed the buttons on and added a few tack eyelets. The border ribbon is something i picked up ages ago at a sewing craft show and have been hoarding because it wasn't cheap, but it felt right to use it here. The cluster on the right is a piece of Waste art, white floral eyelet ribbon, and a gel transfer of a lady with a hat. (from our ByHand Yahoo Group 2006 photo copy swap). I wrote the quote with a nib Lisa gave each of us and purple Magic Color acrylic ink.
