Please note the decorated cover paper took several hours to create and is quite labour intensive.

To create a journal like this one with just a basic scrap book paper covering or other plain type paper the cost would be approx $45.00

To create one with the labour intensive decorated paper would be in the range of $100.00 plus

I needed another journal and was trying out one of Julia Andrus's techniques from her Paper Transformed book "Radiant Batik" which resulted in the cover paper for this journal. You can find the Nitty Gritty details for this background by clicking here.

The covers and spine are made from book board. The spine is covered with a grey book cloth and the covers with the decorated Arches Text wove paper. There are 80 sheets (160 pages) of Domtar Genoa Bond white paper. The holes are punched with a comb binder and bound with a Zip Lock coil, so I can open, close, add more or remove pages if I want. The journal is held onto the cover with Stonehenge pages that insert into an envelope style binding on the inside covers. So the whole journal is removable and can be replaced with a new one when this one's full. I reinforced the envelope section with the long neck silver eyelets which also add a decorative detail to the covers. I wrote in my journal name "a gold mine"  with Moon Palace Sumi Ink and a Mitchel #4 nib in a loose Italic style.
