ID: MC May/12 - Quill - Doily T of Y card
size: 5"w x 7"h

Created: May 4, 2012

I wanted to do two sided color petals and then I started adding elements from various challenges...

I'm using a sentiment stamp from Quietfire Design

I adhered 2 different colors of quilling paper at the ends and then coiled them and encased them in another quill strip to create the petals. Cut out solid cardstock petals and adhered the quilled petals to each, adding Ritz Micro fine glitter in a dusty rose color. Fringed a wide quill strip, coiled it and adhered it to a small cardstock circle, then adhered the petals around it. Coiled and adhered the tentacles between the petals. Added a blue rhinestone center. Love the way the flower turned out, has a whimsical feeling to it.

Stamped the lace doily (Stampin Up "Hello Doily") on white cardstock with Perfect Medium and embossed with Antiquities "California Stucco" which is a nice dusty pink color.

Embossed the edge design with Tim's Gridlock Texture Fade embossing folder and my hard rubber mallet. Sponged a light coating of blue on the high points. Stamped the sentiment with Versafine Black Onyx. Adhered to a dark blue base.

Sewed my dusty pink ribbon around the edges similar to a blanket stitch. Adhered it to my white card, edge to edge. Adhered small white pearls to each stitch.

Adhered my two ribbon pieces. Added a few beads to my pin which was then stuck into the ribbons. Adhered my quilled flower.
