ID: MC May/12 - Quill Lilac - Just 4 U card
size: 5"w x 7"h

I've wanted to do a quilled lilac for a while and have been making these teeny coils for a while... so finally I got around to creating it. BIG GRIN.

I'm using one of the 10 tiny sentiment stamps from Quietfire Design

The main card is a mid range purple stamped with Impression Obsession CAC Geologic background stamp and Versafine Imperial Purple then embossed with Tanzanite embossing powder (a purple tone). Adhered the golden tone parchment cardstock. Adhered the gold corner Peel Offs on each corner.

Each little coil for the florets starts with a 1" white, 2" lavender & 3" mauve quill strip glued together to create the longer strip.  Gives a bit more color depth. The bottom layer of petals, I omitted the little yellow center piece, and just piled them one on top of another so it's about 1/2" high in some spots. I added the green comb quilled leaves and die cut the little stem (Marianne Designs LR0116) coloring it with Distress brown.

Die cut the lace doilies, both sizes (Die-Namics "Oval Decorative Doily") from white cardstock, masked off the lace edge on one and sponged Distress Dusty Concord around the edges. Wrote in my word with a pointed nib and Sumi black ink, when dry, shaded with a yellow colored pencil then a 2B pencil. The under doily, I sponged with the same purple all over, stamped the tiny sentiment, one word at a time - need a bit more practice... Adhered both doilies and then adhered my lilac pieces, sticking the stem into the lace and adding a purple cotton cord bow.

Added the rhinestone flourishes and one dropped petal.

The butterfly (Cottage Cutz "Filigree BFly" set) from white cardstock and sponged Distress Dried Marigold and a touch of my dirty purple sponge on the wing edges, then embossed with Kaleidescope embossing powder, giving it a bit of glitz. Added some glue and brown flocking on the body, then adhered it to the card tilted upward with a 3D foam dot at the head area.
