ID: MC March/12 - Tim's Tech - Mosaic A Smile card
5"w x 6.5"h

This year Tim decided to do a tag a month rather than do the 12 tags at Christmas in December. I'm not sure which I prefer - the leisurely pace of 1 a month or being zapped with a whole bunch of techniques and pressure to create in a short space of time. I missed the February one...

I'm using a quote stamp from Quietfire Design

Tim used a Barn Wood stamp to stamp onto his tag, distressed and sponged browns onto it.

I also used a wood grain stamp (Local King Rubber), stamped with Distress Walnut Stain on white cardstock, trimmed down with my Purple Cow Trim it with a deckle edge blade. Sponged Vintage Photo and Frayed Burlap all over. Wrapped a purple gauze ribbon at the bottom and sewed a zig zag stitch.

The card base is cream toned and run through my machine with Tim's Texture Fade embossing folder Dot Matrix in the de-bossed mode. Sponged Seedless Preserves lightly over the surface. Adhered my wood grain piece.

I quilled the flower center using 2 colors of quilling strips around a wood dowel. First tightly wrapping the pink color, adhering the end, then adhering the purple strip and continuing to wrap, adhering the end and removing from dowel. Pinch one end into a point, leaving the other end rounded. Create five of these and adhere together. Add a quilled fringed center brad or gem like I did.

Sponged the purple onto white cardstock and die cut with Tim's Mini Tattered Flowers Movers and Shapers dies. Randomly stamped an Oriental text stamp over the petals with Versafine Black Onyx. Darkened the purple on the bottom petals, touched each petal with Stickles Picket Fence and let dry. Adhered the two flowers together off set and then the quilled center and adhered to card.

Stamped my quote with the black on white cardstock, punched with a large oval punch and hit the edges with the purple..

Die cut the paper clip from white cardstock, sponged some purple and embossed with Rustique Tin Can. Adhered it to my quote piece and the to my card. The button is a Polymer clay button I made using a real button to make my mold, painting with silver paint and clear embossing. Tied with purple string and adhered to the paper clip.

The butterflies are a Tim Technique. Stick a piece of double sided tape (he used Red Liner, I used Graffix) onto Grungepaper, die cut (Tim's Mini Butterflies Movers and Shapers dies). Cut up into very small pieces various colored papers. remove release paper from a butterfly and start sticking them down. Sprinkle with embossing powder (he used Antiquities Cement, I used Antiquities Stucco), heat set, then apply Glossy Accents only to the little cut pieces. Set aside to dry. I adhered them with 3D foam tape. Also added the little black rhinestones for the body.
