MC March/12 - Polymer Clay -
Shamrock Blessings card
Created: March 3, 2012 I finally got a toaster oven that has a temperature gauge that works properly... I had a cheap brand from Superstore - lousy. Then I both a cheap one by Black & Decker - it too had a variance of more than 50º. Not good. So brought it back and bought a more expensive model by Kitchen Aid - was on special. Finally one that works, so played with my polymer clay... The shamrocks was one of the things I made. It seems I cut off the "S" from shamrocks in the photo I took. C'est la vie. It is there though, under the raised leaf.

So started off using various greens I
had in my stash, mixing them like a skinner blend, then using a
Spellbinders Classic Heart die set as a template to cut the small
hearts, pinched them down in the centers, added a stem and a cavity
to put my rhinestone after baking. Baked, cooled and adhered the
rhinestone. Stamped a couple shamrocks repeatedly down the left side and gold embossed. Die cut the Labels 17 from a larger one in my stash that was ruined... Sponged some Shabby Shutters around the edges. Dyed the twine (only had a brown/white twine) with Pine Needles, misted with water and dried, then wrapped around die cut. Adhered it to card. Stamped the quote with the Pine Needles, then adhered my shamrocks with Goldens Extra Heavy gel medium. |
