ID: MC June/12 - Quill DFly Cage - Happy Birthday card
size: 5"w x 7"h

And another card from my quilling session yesterday - started 3 cards, this being the third of them... I love this birdcage by Memory Box, it's not too big and not too small for my kind of cards... I sound like Golldilocks.  BIG GRIN.

I'm using a sentiment stamp from the "Let Them Eat Cupcakes" set from Quietfire Design

I had cut a bunch of cream pearlized quill strips and then colored the back of them with a light pink Tombow marker.

The dragonfly (Memory Box "Meadow Dragonfly") was die cut from white cardstock colored with Distress pinks prior die cutting, assembled, then hit with a glue stick and sprinkled with Ritz micro fine glitter "Warm Highlights". The body was done with white glue and dark brown and black flocking.

I embossed (Cuttlebug "Swiss Dots") the white cardstock. Sponged my dirty blue sponge over the high points. Punched a 1/8 hole in my green cardstock, then punched a 5/16" circle keeping the previous punch in the center. Inserted my gold eyelet, hammering the back flat, then adhering it to my background piece.

Adhered my ecru lace edging around my main mid toned emerald green card front. Adhered my background, then my Birdcage (Memory Box "Carousal") was die cut on 110# white cardstock, direct to paper with Versafine Spanish Moss and embossed with a Judi Kins "Rustique Patina Jade". Adhered my dragonfly and leafy/floral elements. On the left was a Sizzlets Leafy Branch; Oak leaves electronically cut after scanning some real oak leaves; and Marianne Designs "Leafy Branch". Used the same dies for the bottom leafy elements adding a sprig Dee's Distinctively "Large Fern";

Stamped the sentiment with Versafine Black Onyx and added a small white half pearl in the centers of the flowers.

Created a background with Distress Oxide sprays on white cardstock. Stamped the quote using Versafine Clair "Green Oasis". Wrote in my "So Glad You're My Friend" using a black Zig Writer. Die cut with Spellbinder's Oval die set. Adhered to inside of card.
