ID: MC June/12 - Quill Bird Cage - Serenity card
size: 5"w x 7"h

Created: June 21, 2012

And another card from my quilling session yesterday - started 3 cards, this being the second of them... I love this birdcage by Memory Box, it's not too big and not too small for my kind of cards... I sound like Golldilocks.  BIG GRIN.

I'm using a sentiment stamp from the Gentle Words set from Quietfire Design and that was the perfect word for this card...

These quilled pieces were from a previous session, again coloring the backs of quill papers with Tombow markers and adding a large red rhinestone on the focal flower.

I embossed (Darrice "Bamboo") the white cardstock, matching up the bamboo and continue to emboss till my whole card was covered. Sponged Distress Crushed Olive & Forest Moss lightly over the high points.

Adhered my background to my main rusty orange Bazzill Monochrome textured card. Birdcage (Memory Box "Carousal") was die cut on 110# white cardstock, direct to paper with Versafine Toffee and embossed with a combination of Espresso & Gold. I popped up the cage to give it a more 3D look. Die cut my bird (Marianne Designs LR0138), sponged with Distress greens and colored the bird with Distress markers and adhered to card. Then adhered my leafy and floral elements.  On the left was a Sizzlets Leafy Branch. On the bottom - Dee's Distinctively "Large Fern"; Memory Box "Delicate Fern", CC Designs "Leafy Branch"; all colored with Distress greens. The Oak leaves were electronically cut after scanning some real oak leaves.

Stamped the sentiment with Versafine Black Onyx.
