ID: MC June/12 - BFly Dreams Quilt card
size: 5"w x 7"h

I had a play day with a couple friends and they both contributed to this card, one with the silk fabric for the butterfly and the other with paper that had transfer ink on it. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried to transfer the color onto my die cut butterfly, it also transferred onto the white paper I was working on... and the next thing I knew, I was cutting out this paper and trimming it down with a zig zag rotary cutter and a quilt came to mind. I even pulled out my sewing machine...

I'm using part of the Butterfly stamp set from Quietfire Design

As I mentioned above, I cut out the background I was working on and sewed it to my card front along with the transfer paper itself. Sewed around the edges with a dark blue thread. Sponged Distress Broken China around the edges. Tied some ribbon or thread through the buttons and adhered them to the card.

Die cut the large butterfly (Spellbinders) from a minty green cardstock, and you can see some of the transferred paint on the wings. Used the outline of the die to cut the silk, then adhered the two together. Applied some Stickles to parts of the butterfly then sprinkled Ritz micro fine glitter "Stardust" then adhered it to the card at the body only. Added rhinestone antennae and body.

I used Tim's Sizzix "Word Play" alphabet die and cut my letters, sprayed them with Dylusions Ink sprays, dried them and outlined the edges with a Distress Purple marker, then adhered them to card.

Stamped the butterfly word with Versafine Black Onyx.
