MC Jan/12 - Flower Pot Cup Happy
Birthday card
Created: January 11, 2012 I used the flower pot die set from Spellbinders on a recent card and really liked it. Was looking at it and said to myself, it looked like one of those coffee mugs that everyone carries around... (not me). So thought I'd make one as a birthday gift for a friend. And then I was playing around with my very colorful ribbons and the bow was created... The Just for You sentiment and the Happy Birthday are both from Quietfire Design

So I die cut the largest Spellbinders
flower pot from gold metallic cardstock. The handle is cut using the
Spellbinders Heirloom ornament, two of them nested in each other. I
cut two so the backside would be as pretty as the front. Stamped the dancing people (Flourishes "Mardis Gras" #14 set) on white cardstock, cut around image and embossed with black embossing powder. Like the silhouette image. Adhered to gold layer. Stamped the quote with black and clear embossed (it changed color while it was being embossed, strange). Adhered the red wrap around ribbon and the handles, then adhered it to my main card below. I scored and folded my card and then cut it out with the Flower Pot die, keeping it shy of the cutting edge of the lip of the pot. Adhered the jumbo bow. Stamped the "all wrapped up" (Flourishes set #45) with Versafine Black Onyx and cut around the image and adhered to the bow. Stamped the "Just for you" with the black, Sponged some Distress red around edges, trimmed around words, punched a hole and added the gold ribbon, adhering the two ends around the cup handle. |
