MC Jan/12 - Darkest Stars - Keep
Strong card
Created: February 12, 2012 I was in a mood to play with a long skinny quote stamp, that on first impression, you'd think would get lost in the oversized Spellbinder die it would need.... but as you can see, worked out well. The quote I'm using is from Quietfire Design. |
Stamped the quote onto white cardstock
using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossing. I then placed my die
and taped it down so it wouldn't move. Die cut, then dry embossed
then sponged Distress Chipped Sapphire, Stormy Sky & Dusty Concord
with the die in place. Used Martha Stewart punch anywhere "Starry
Night" punch. Die cut the 3 smallest star shapes from the Spellbinders "Stars Five" set from white cardstock. Coated completely with Perfect medium and embossed with Silver Fire Opal embossing powder. Adhered to quote piece. Scored and folded my dark blue cardstock to create the easel card. Stamped the star spray (Inkadinkado "Starry Night") with the Perfect medium and embossed with silver embossing powder on a dark blue mulberry paper. Stamped the words "Keep Strong" using Just Rite "Curlz" alphabet set and silver embossing. Adhered to card floor. Punched the starry border (Martha Stewart "Star" border punch) from a scrap piece of the blue cardstock and adhered a piece of Washi paper behind. It's a pale pinky to white, gold detailed paper. I cut the scallop in the border to fit the scallop of the quote die before adhering both to card. Added clear rhinestone stars, 1 medium in the punch out and some small ones scattered around. |
