MC Dec/12 - Dreamweaver Holly -
Warm Wishes card
Created: December 13, 2012 I was on a HUGE roll and couldn't stop playing with my Dreamweaver stencils... one thing led to another and this is the first of 3 cards. You can see the other two cards HERE & HERE And I'm using an Xmas sentiment stamp from Quietfire Design..

I was in a mood to create an Xmas
window type scene... used the Holly #LL3005 with regular white paste
and allowed that to dry. Lay the stencil back over the design and
tapped some dew drop chalk pads (Prima Marketing) to color the image
using a green, red & attic Dust pads. Lay the Large Tile LJ811 over
my holly, masking the last line of openings, and spread translucent
paste over the whole area. Let that dry. Masked off my edges and
sponged Distress Black Soot over everything, then wiped it down with
a damp paper towel - window pane definition created. lay the large
tile stencil back down and applied some white Puff Paint in the
corners of the window. Removed stencil and heated to puff. Masked the window with some tracing paper and stamped the brick design (Local King Rubber) with the chalk pads in the red, the Attic Dust and some brown, repeating to cover the whole card. Used a Memory Box Grand Madison Window and white cardstock and my hard rubber mallet to cut my oversized window frame, moving the die as needed. Stamped the frame with a wood grain pattern (Impression obsession CAC) inked with Distress Frayed Burlap and touched with Vintage Photo and Black Soot. Repeated the process since my window was larger than my stamp, clear embossed, then sponged Distress Fired Brick all over and touched the corners with Aged Mahogany. Adhered it to embossed window. Cut my window layer off center to add a bit more interest. Adhered it edge to edge on my card front. Stamped the sentiment at the bottom with Versafine Black Onyx. |
