The Watercolor Letters was a half day class on Sunday afternoon. and I wish we had more time for this one too. I loved all the different ways of applying color. |

Paper: 140# Arches HP watercolor I used a Pilot Parallel Pen and water to write my letters and then dropped Ecoline watercolors into it. |

Paper: 140# Arches HP watercolor I used a Pilot Parallel Pen dipped into walnut ink to write my letters then dropped granules of walnut ink into the wet ink. |

Paper: 140# Fabriano Artistico CP watercolor This is one of my favorite letter combos. I used the Haff 629 ruling pen with water to write my letters, then dropped my Ecoline Colors into it. When dry with a water brush I wet the negative portions of the letters and dropped my color into it. I've always created a very heavy bead of water and let my paint float and merge on the top and then sink into the paper. Thomas wets his paper but drops his color in when the water has partially sunk into the paper. I love the white line around the edges. Of course that takes a bit of dexterity... It looks fabulous when your letters are really rough looking and you really follow the in's and out's of those edges. |

Paper: 140# Fabriano Artistico CP watercolor Another variation of colors. I like this one too but the other pops more. |

Paper: 140# Fabriano Artistico CP watercolor Can't do letters without doing my name. I like the way this one pops too. Vibrant. Done with the Haff 629 |

Paper: 140# Fabriano Artistico CP watercolor I'm not sure if I spoiled it when I painted the background black. It really popped when it had a white background, But since the word implies night time, I though it needed the black. I'll probably use it in an ATC. I'll also probably make another one with a white background. The letters were made with the Haff ruling pen, the upper half of the letter was done with Ecoline and the other half with gouache and gold powder allowing the colors to merge. The negative portion of the letters was colored in with a yellow gouache and gold powder. I painted the back with a mini Pentel Pocket brush pen. cut out a mask of the word and spattered white and gold gouache. |
