A letter of the Alphabet as a focal
point was another theme for
June 2007 I started doing a geometrical design (Art Deco style) and coloring the pattern in yellows and oranges (another theme for June) - the "D" & the "O". So these are really a combo ATC. Then I just continued playing with patterns. I was working on my practice paper (Genoa bond) so I just cut out the areas I wanted and glued them to Orange cardstock backgrounds. I was also playing with my new watercolor pencils "Derwent Inktense" which are fabulous. They are so creamy and concentrated color. They are really an ink type watercolor which when wet, can be moved around like regular watercolor pencils, but when dry, that's it, they don't move. So they are great for us calligraphers that want to do writing on top of watercolor artwork. The designs were outlined first with either a black micron pen or a zig marker (whichever I grabbed first). |

For the "D" I used left over gold leaf. Whenever I do any leafing, I put the remainder in a zip lock baggie and I get a nice variety of leafing that way to use in smaller areas. |
For the "O" I used a yellow to red leafing foil. |
