"Primitive Series" (September 2006)
Modified: June 1, 2008
I used a Canson 90lb watercolor paper. Smeared it with Rheotech gesso using a palette knife. When dry I added washes of different browns and a bit of metallic color. I found primitive cave wall art on the net and used them as my samples. I painted in my primitive art using a Zig black marker, and when dry used a piece of emery to lightly remove some paint. Sprayed the artwork with crystal clear. Mounted it onto 2 layers of cardstock, first a bright yellow then onto brown. Each image was inspired by artwork from thousands of years ago. I have included a little history of the story behind that artwork on the back of the card. |
