Brayered backgrounds Series

Modified: Oct 4, 2008

I mounted all the artwork onto this background - I used regular white cardstock and brayered (using a piece of glass as my palette) the colors on using Jacquard's Lumiere paints (Pearl Turquoise, Halo Pink Gold, Metallic Gold). I used a small Sizzix  "Friends&Flowers" punch set to punch out several of the word friends from both plain and zyroned cardstock. I used the cutouts right side up and wrong side up as stencils,  See below for the descriptions of the other techniques.

This and the next both used the the positive portion of the stencil. I glued the words backward on a piece of foam board. Now just as in print making I brayered my color onto it and then lay a piece of card on top and pressed down to get as much of the surface touching the paint. When  dry I rubber stamped the jar of flowers (Old Island #520B), colored in the petals, added some glitter and filled in the jar with Glossy Accents. Mounted this onto yellow cardstock then onto the background brayered cardstock. Same as "Jar Flowers". When  dry I rubber stamped the vase of flowers (Old Island #524A), colored in the petals, added mini rhinestones for the centers and filled in the jar with Glossy Accents. I used a zyroned "Friends" word and stuck it on a piece of golden brown cardstock. Brayered over it. Glued on a molded paper art (from a cast piece of a unmounted rubber stamp by Prairie Rubber Stamps) of a bouquet of flowers & painted it with twinkles H2o's. Mounted it onto the main background cardstock.

The next 2 are done in the same manner as the "Jar Flowers" (Prairie Rubber Stamps #513B) above. Then rubber stamped and the petals filled in with Glossy Accents. Mounted onto yellow cardstock then onto the main background cardstock. Same as "Jar Flowers" above then rubber stamped with Queen Anne Lace (Old Island #578C) and embellished with White Pearl 3D fabric paint. Mounted onto yellow cardstock then onto the main background cardstock.
