I love creating this kind of background.

Note: both rubber stamps used are from the new Crow sheet of rubber from Quietfire Design

I started with a 1/2 piece of black Full Spectrum cardstock. Using the foam make up sponges designed for Pan Pastels, I swiped colors across the surface in a kind of arc pattern using, Violet, Ultramarine Blue and both their tints as wells as a touch of Permanent Red, then with a  tissue, I wiped across the colors in the same direction as applied. I rubber stamped the musical scale with a gold stamp pad and Queen's gold embossing powder. I then cut my wavy pattern lines and glued them to the other half of the Full Spectrum black cardstock, leaving enough space to write a monoline alphabet. I wrote the Crow quote using Ecoline Gold ink and a quill nib. Cut this down to size and mounted to a pale lavender Bazzill monochromatic cardstock then onto my dark purple cardstock. I rubber stamped the crow on a separate piece of white cardstock using black stamp pad and Hematite embossing powder (like black), and cut it out, used a Zig black marker to edge the crow cut out and glued it to my card.

Note Did not spray with any fixative.

Quote: The crow doth sing as sweet as the lark when neither is attended; and I think the nightingale, if she should sing by day when every gooses cackling would be thought no better a musician than the wren. How many thing by season seasoned are to their right praise and true perfection. William Shakespeare
