Sandra used a heavy CP watercolor paper. The building I used is a photograph I took in 1998 along with several other mirrored buildings. The patterns they created mesmerized me. I scanned the photo I had and laser printed in a very light shade of black & white. I used a ChartPak marker to transfer the image to the watercolor paper and then used colored pencils to color it in.  Some of the pages in Sandra's journal also had a piece of thin mulberry paper separating the pages, which mine did. WHich is why you see that gauzy look on each image.

I searched the web for quotes and thought this one and the one on my sign in page - apropos for her theme.

I was looking at a friend's blog (Lorraine Douglas) and fell in love with one of her lettering styles she used on a piece called "Seekers". It's a take on Neuland but with a funky twist. I really li9ke Neuland style lettering, except some of the letters appear very bulky and not flowing enough for me. With the thin and thick lines, it was perfect.

I wrote the quote using a 2.4 parallel pen and Moon Palace Sumi ink.

Quote: a structure becomes architectural, and not sculptural, when its elements no longer have their justification in nature. Guillaume Apollinaire

The quote I put in the sign in page (not shown) is: Architect: One who drafts a plan of your house, and plans a draft of your money. Ambrose Bierce
