ID: Kathie's Journal "Women's Wisdom"

closed: 5.5"w x 4.25"h

Created: April 4, 2008
Kathie used a cream toned cardstock and created four signatures of 5 pages each. Both sides of the covers of each signature were painted with acrylic paints in a rusty color, aqua and copper. There was also one glassine (or waxed paper) page for each signature done in the same colors. My spread fell with one of these glassine pages in between my pages. What to do and still get a cohesive spread... So I cut an oval window and glued on an oval shaped frame from some metallic aqua blue Bazill cardstock, both sides. Kathie also sponged some color onto her cream colored pages. We were allowed to cover that up or collage on top or whatever. I decided to rubber stamp my ladies onto a similar cream colored cardstock and cut it out in the oval shape and stuck it to her pages. Her pages became the frame to my ovals.

I love these two rubber stamp ladies. They are both from Stuby Stampers, left #3729 and right #2662. I used Brilliance gold and Pirate's Gold embossing powder, then colored them in with some Pan Pastels and Super Ferby metallic colored pencils.

Wrote my quote on the left side with a black micron pen and the one on the right with a Sakura Gel pen "Bronze"

Quote: A woman with a voice is by definition a strong woman. But the search to find that voice can be remarkable difficult. Melinda Gates

I used portions of my Calligraphic Peel Offs to create my name, coloring them in with a black micron pen and glitter. The butterfly was part of the page already. I added another quote.

Quote: What is better than wisdom? Woman. And what is better than a good woman? Nothing! Geoffrey Chaucer from Canterbury Tales
