Origami Booklet
Created: January 10, 2015 At our Guild meeting today, one of the members (Nancy Dormer) taught us this origami style booklet. Love it. What a great way to use up some of my Gelli Print papers... She learnt the structure from this book: Trash Origami: 25 Paper Folding Projects Reusing Everyday Materials by Michael G. LaFosse No glue or adhesive of any kind and no cutting other than to make sure all your pages are the same size... The booklet on the left starts out as an 8.5" x 5.25" piece of paper |
Each booklet
consists of: All sheets should be the exact same size. Each page in the booklet will turn out to be 1/4 the size of your sheet. So an 8.5 x 11" sheet will give you a page size of 4.25 x 5.5". Note: Use decorative papers for the covers, spine and pages. The links can be plain undecorated papers since they are hidden.

The papers I used were all Gelli prints except for the covers on the booklet on the left which were done on watercolor paper using molding pastes. |
Each sheet is folded the same way - see diagram below. When all sheets are folded, assemble your pages, then insert the link pieces into the pages, leaving the most outerly section of the cover (front and back) for the spine piece. |

folding diagram Fold the bottom edge up to approximately the middle of the page, then fold the top edge down, meeting the other edge at the middle. (mine are actually folded 1/3 & 2/3). Then fold in half. The folded pages will now slip into the pocket created. |
