I used scrapbook paper, (Provo Craft Pathways "Americana) one of my favorite pad sets, for the whole card, splicing wherever, to get everything to blend. The card is basically, when everything is spliced together, two extra large double sided leaves and then folded at different junctions, depending on where the cut out letter fell. It's held together with some red waxed linen thread

I drew in the oversized serif style block letters, then cut out the negative portions so the background paper peeked through. Each page has a motivational quote done in Rennie Mackintosh monoline alphabet using a black micron pen. The word "Congratulations" is one of my calligraphic Peel Offs which have just been released to the public. I also added a mortar board with the school's logo (a falcon) and used embroidery floss in the school's colors  for the tassel (red, white & blue) and it sits on the letter "C" like it's been tossed there.

NOTE: The  Peel Off on the front of the card is a new release. It is one of my calligraphic word sentiments. In February 2008 there were 6 styles released in four different colors (gold, silver, black, and white); "Thank You", "It's a Boy, It's a Girl", "You're Invited" Congratulations" "Happy Birthday & "Love". Five more will be coming in March of 2008; "Friends", "Thinking of You", "Xmas Seasonal", "Xmas" & Happy Anniversary"
