The "S is a letter I learned in a recent class with Barbara Close in the Textured Letter class. The decorations inside the letter are a 3 dot watercolor painted flower. Love this technique. I remember learning it a few years back, the last time she was here, but as with so many things, it got put to the side...

I placed a piece of removable tape (1/4")  across my cardstock. Drew in my letter with a Zig Writer, and the rest of the name with a pointed pen and Sumi ink. Created blue and fuchsia flowers and little green leaves, then colored between them with some iridescent white. Added a pencil line along some of the sides and then blending that with a paper stump to give depth. When dry, removed the tape and wrote in the "happy Birthday", then used a mask to blend in some Pebbles Pearlescent chalks - blue on the bottom and a pink on the top area. Die cut & dry embossed with a Spellbinders Reverse Wonky Rectangle. Sponged some Broken China around the edges and added a little silver Stickles dot in each flower. Set aside to dry.

Die cut & dry embossed the next size up and sponged various blues all over (Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire & then around the edges with Dusty Concord) till I got a really good saturation of color.

I adhered a layer of metallic dark blue, then the large blue wonky rectangle, then a ribbon adhered to the back and scrunched up a bit where the bow would be placed. Adhered these layers to the main cream card.

Adhered the decorative wonky rectangle with pop dots. Glued down the peg bow with white glue. Added the half cream toned pearls to the corners and some smaller pink toned ones to the letter.

Note the bow tied area. A trick an online friend (Becca Feekan) demoed folding the larger ribbon to accent the center detail and create a smaller tie area.
