The poinsettia is created with one of Tim Holtz's techniques of stamping a Cut 'n Dry Felt, then inking the felt with the appropriate colors. The felt with Distress dye reinkers doesn't cross contaminate. When done, ink your stamp with the new stamp pad and stamp onto regular cardstock then thermal emboss with clear, or onto watercolor paper and move the inks with a waterbrush etc.

I worked on 90# watercolor paper, used a waterbrush, then wanted more color so added some color using Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils. Love the results.

I then die cut the oval with a Spellbinder's die, sponged the edges with Distress Walnut Stain. Used the same die and hand cut the other edge onto red cardstock, layering them.

Ran a piece of white cardstock through my Cuttlebug with one of the folders from the Heritage set #2000408, then brayered the high points and embossed with Queen's Gold. Layered my oval on top.

The main card is white, and I stamped my word "Christmas" (Quietfire Design Textured Word set) with Versafine Black Onyx, then over stamped with Barn Yard. I then selectively dry embossed the edges with Tim's Sizzix Burlap embossing folder.

As a final touch I added some black Enamel Accents on the yellow buds.
