I came across some poinsettias made with individual stamped and embossed petals in various sizes. Now I've done this with punched out petals that I would dry emboss designs or hand draw veins etc., but not with a matching stamp. So I took the idea home with me to ponder. I just got Therese Collins stamp making machine and hadn't used it yet, so figured this was the perfect time. I drew some petal shapes on cardstock, then transferred my images (by hand) to the clear plastic film that comes with the machine. I used a Sumi ink from a Pentel mini pocket brush pen to fill in the negative space. Worked like a charm. I had started using a Zig Writer, but it didn't cover completely and seemed to be lifting whatever was on the clear plastic, so switched over. I also scanned my petals to manipulate and cut out with my Cricut, so I had cut out petals, which I then stamped with my new stamps and embossed with Queen's Gold. Love the way both cards turned out.

I used a deep burgundy type red cardstock for the first poinsettia, scrunched up the petals to give them some life and added the pearl brad center. The under layer of red is a brighter textured red cardstock layered on to a cream toned card. I covered the red cardstock with the white lace and wrapped it to the back. I stamped my quote (Quietfire Design) with Versafine Black Onyx, then die cut it with the new Spellbinders Oval pearls (love this die), dry embossed it and sponged Distress Aged Mahogany around the edges. Adhered it to the card and part under the lace. Added small half pearls and colored the alternate ovals with a Sakura Clear Stardust gel pen.

For this card, I layered a deep dark green cardstock to my main cream toned card, edge to edge. Layered some textured hand made Thai paper. Dry embossed a strip of the green cardstock with a Crafts Too Swirl embossing folder. The poinsettia is done on cream toned cardstock, scrunched as well, and a large amber rhinestone for the center. The quote (Quietfire Design) is stamped with the Black.
