I took a class with Sandra Niedermeir & Lorraine Cockle yesterday "White Christmas" and one of the cards was cut out letters spelling a word type card. I've done these before several times - but that was a few years ago. When I saw the card in class I said that's a perfect project for the Cricut and I was right.

Basically you type your letters (the boxier type with good serifs the better). Decide how high you want your card and the length of your paper or the end result of your card. Squeeze the letters to fit your project. The first letter will get flipped mirror image, the 2 middle letters are put on another page to cut, and the last letter is spaced the distance required for your project. Then place a rectangle, the height of your letters, connecting and overlapping slightly on both letters. Group everything and use the weld function. Check to make sure everything is welded properly, then cut. I also put a small or large border on the bottom or top - depending on my mood, for strength if letters are too open and also it's an area to rubber stamp the sentiment.

All sentiment and quotes are from Quietfire Design. unless otherwise stated.

This card has the rectangle on the bottom portion of the "SW" page. After cutting and folding the pages I used various embossing folders and sponging with Distress stamp pads in blues & greens. Stamped the quote with black and the snowman (Inkadinkado "Holiday Silhouettes" set) also with black. This was my first one and didn't quite fit when folded, so I cut them apart and attached them with some blue eyelets and scored an opening fold line. Since I used the winter scene embossing folder I decided to write these words on the inside. Used a micron pen "from my home to yours Happy Holidays"

As you can see this card has the rectangle on the top of the letter for the "PeE" page.  Masked and sponged various Distress browns on the letters, then Worn Lipstick on the pages. Masked the letters again and stamped the flourishes (Quietfire Design) and embossed with Queen's Gold. The "a" was dry embossed with a holly embossing folder and sponged on the high points with aged Mahogany. Stamped the sentiment with Versafine Vintage Sepia.

Adhered a burgundy ribbon with stars on it. Used some single ply twine to attached the two pages.

Here you can see another page embossed with one of the word embossing folders. I used my rubber mallet to get what I wanted where I wanted it. Added a few Peel Offs stars.

As you can tell by the various sizes of the cards, I was playing until I got what I wanted. This card only has a very narrow border on the bottom.

I dry embossed each letter with a snowflake embossing folder and sponged with Chipped Sapphire. Masked the letters and sponged some Tumbled Glass on the pages.

Stamped and embossed snowflakes on the other pages with some Silver Opal embossing powder and the Inkadinkado snowflakes.

The quote on the inside was stamped with Versafine Majestic Blue
