ID: Tim Holtz "Perfect Pearls" Technique
Thinking of You card

This is another wonderful technique from Tim Holtz. using Distress Stamp Pads and Perfect Pearls. See bottom of page for details. All stamps from Quietfire Design. Peel Offs sentiment "Thinking of You" is one of my calligrahic Peel Offs under the label of Elizabeth Craft Designs. I mounted my artwork to a burgundy cardstock, making my own photo corners from some brownish paper and using a Marth Stewart border punch.

You can see the glitz from the Perfect Pearls on this detail image.

This is the page I put into my technique journal so I wouldn't forget the technique. BIG GRIN.

Sample and card are the same colors up to the stamping of the words:

On a melt art mat, rub some distress stamp pad (Peeled Paint), then mist with water, lay your CS down and rub into the wet medium a bit. Lift of and dry with hair dryer. Needs to be TOTALLY dry before next step. Rubber stamp an image with another Distress color (Fired Brick), then immediately apply Perfect Pearls (Heirloom Gold) using a small paintbrush and coating the whole stamped image. Brush off excess Pearls. Mist with water and then dry with hairdryer. Notice the red ink bleeding from under the Perfect Pearls after the misting? When this is happening that’s when you dry your paper. Sponge some other distress on the edges using the sponge applicator (Frayed Burlap & Shabby Shutters). Rubber stamp some background stuff (Shabby Shutters).

sample: Rubber stamp a word (mix of Peeled paint and Fired Brick)

card: rubber stamped "Create without" Distress Shabby Shutters. "C'est la vie", "Memories" & "Crow" done with Versafine Black Onyx

NOTE: These are some of my calligraphic word sentiment Peel Offs on the "Elizabeth Craft Design" labels. There are 12 styles available at the moment. They come in four different colors (gold, silver, black, and white); "Thank You", "It's a Boy, It's a Girl", "You're Invited" Congratulations" "Happy Birthday & "Love", "Friends", "Thinking of You", "Xmas Seasonal", "Xmas" & Happy Anniversary". There are a few more coming out some time in 2009 or early 2010.
