ID: Wednesday Stamper - Spiders - Create

I came across this challenge accidentally, and the theme caught my eye. I had just made a spider card for something else and was in a mood to create another one. BIG GRIN.

This is a Wednesday challenge from Wednesday Stamper and the theme was to use spiders.

I love the Dreamweaver brass stencil of this spider. I was hesitant to buy it at first, but now that I've got it, I can't seem to stop using it. I've also been playing with gilding and thought I'd continue in that stream. I used a heavy weight black cardstock for the card. The spider is done with black variegated leaf on Golden's soft gel medium. There were a few areas the leaf didn't stick, but I left them alone to give more variation to the spider's coloring. I put the stripe down the left side using La D'ore adhesive size (not really recommending this adhesive, gets thick too quickly) then put down my gold leaf and dry embossed the designs into it. I then used my Pan Pastels (dark grey) through the spider web stencil (rather than use a pencil which is what I did last time) and used the chalked marks as my guidelines and used a Zig 2 way glue pen for my adhesive, then lay down silver leaf.  I rubber stamped the quote (Quietfire Design) using Tsukineko Essential Glue pad (well inked) and sprinkled from my batch of leftover leaf. I then added the words along the edge of the spider web with a silver gel pen

words" Don't let the cob webs grow".
