Ornament card
Created: September 27, 2010 The card structure is a take on an origami fold card I saw recently and you can see the card HERE. This is much easier. I cut my dark blue Bazzil cardstock in half lengthwise to make a 5.5 x 3" side folded card. I then cut out a 3.5" square of the white. Those are my two main elements that everything else is layered on to. |
The white layer on the card is a beautiful pearlized white cardstock from Wasau "Creative Collection Metallic". Stamped the individual words (Quietfire Design - Textured Word Stamp set) and embossed with Queen's Gold. Applied gold peel off sticker lines around the edge. Die cut 3 Medium sized Heirloom Ornaments from plain white cardstock, dry embossed the edges, then sponged Distress colors on both sides using the die as a stencil/mask (Broken China, Blue Jeans, Chipped Sapphire). Misted with water while the die was in place and dried. Used an anti static bag prior stamping the flourishes (also Quietfire Design) and using the die again as a mask, then embossing with the gold. |

Stitched down the centers of each ornament onto a piece of the dark blue Bazzil cardstock, stitching the center one first, then positioning the left one, butted right up to it, so the stitching on the back looks almost like one line. Then Butted the right side ornament. I pulled the stitching thread to the back of each ornament after stitching and before stitching the next one and tied a double knot in each, trimmed off excess. Adhered this square to the white square and then to the main card with 3D adhesive squares. The smaller card is a name place holder for a dinner table. The letters are alpha stickers, stuck to clear plastic, so they are removable and can be reused again and the place card is also reusable.
