This is my submission for the Vamp Stamp Magazine for the January 2011 issue with the theme of "New Year's Resolutions".

I don't find these types of themes easy to interpret, but I think it turned out OK. I don't make new year resolutions, but from watching friends I know they make lists... Voila Tim's Notepad Sizzix embossing folder was the perfect solution.

One of the resolutions was to remember my friend's birthday...

I embossed it on white cardstock and sponged Distress Antique Linen on the high points. Wrote in my words with a Micron pen. Layered it at an angle onto a red card which I embossed with the Cuttlebug Victoria folder.

I created the flower by cutting out the heart shape petals with my Cricut on both red and white cardstock, then stamping the Flourishing inside heart (Quietfire Design ) and embossing with Queen's Gold. Assembled with layers of glue globs and then more glue and some black flocking in the center.

I die cut the label using Tim's on the edge Bracket die, flipping my cardstock over to do the bottom part. It cut off a bit of the design, but was still an ok shape. I sponged some Barn Red Distress stamp pad on the edges. Stamped the words Happy Birthday, also from Quietfire Design. Attached it to the card and added some twine with knots.
