ID: VSN March 2011 - Doors
- Doors card
Created: March 13, 2011 This is a trifold card. The quote is by (Quietfire Design and one of the latest released in February. |
I started with a medium toned brown cardstock for the main card and folded it at the 4" and 8" mark. The front of the card opens from left to right. I seem to like doing that lately. The decorative background is cream toned cardstock, sponged direct to paper with Distress Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Frayed Burlap & then blended with Old Paper. Misted with water and dried. The wood grain uses a piece of the decorative background. The embossing folder (Sizzix WoodGrain set #65664) was spread with a coat of Distress Vintage Photo, then the decorative background put in and run through the embossing machine, then clear embossed. Trimmed down to size, keyhole die (Sizzix Tim's keyhole #656630) cut out, then layered to the brown cardstock, which was then layered onto the decorative background and on to the main card. Stamped the quote with Versafine Black Onyx. Attached the key charm with Tim's tiny attacher.

I stamped the flowers (Stubby Stampers "Daisy Bunch"
#2988) with the black stamp pad, added the rectangular shape for a flower pot,
colored the flowers with Prisma colors, cut them out and added some black Flower
Soft in the center. Layered it onto my card. Punched out the butterfly (Martha Stewart "Butterfly Large" #42-30002) from some white cardstock, touched it with some pink and blue stamp pads and clear embossed it. Used it as the template to cut another butterfly as a solid shape from pink cardstock. Adhered the two together at the body then onto the card. |
The quote inside was stamped using Just Rite Times Roman alphabet stamp set and the black stamp pad. I used a daisy patterned scrapbook paper and cut some of the daisies out to place between the text. |
