I don't do too many cards that are 4.25 x 5.5" , but the challenge for the month is to make something even smaller than that, like an ATC or small card etc. I've made enough ATC's... so went to making a card. It's a multi page card so feels bigger. BIG GRIN.

It's my submission for the Vamp Stamp Magazine for the March 2012 issue with the theme of "Small Size".

The quote, word and small butterfly on the inside are the latest stamps by Quietfire Design - gorgeous.

For the flower, stamped the script background stamp (Impression Obsession CAC "Script") with the black on white cardstock, smeared Distress Stains "Scattered Straw", "Mustard Seed" & "Wild Honey" all over, misted with Perfect Pearls "Sunflower Sparkle" and dried. Die cut with Spellbinders Dahlia set, cutting 2 of the 4th die up and 1 of the 3rd die up. The center cluster is punched using a 1" Sakura (Carla Craft) punch from some plain cardstock smeared with Mustard & Wild Honey.

Cut between the scallops of the 3 large die cuts to about 1/2" from the center. Use the eraser end of a pencil and place in center of large Dahlia die cut, bring up petals and scrunch around pencil, open petals up and partial squeeze each petal in half. This softens and forms the flower layer. Do this to all 3 die cuts.

Use the flat end of a bamboo skewer and place in center of Sakura blossom, scrunch around skewer. Put a dab of glue on outside bottom of scrunched Sakura and press the next layer onto the glue and scrunch up around skewer. Continue with rest of Sakura's, hold in place while glue dries, then fluff up a bit. Place a drop of glue in the centers of the die cut layers and continue adhering the Sakura cluster to the die cuts. When glue has set, add a bead of Stickles Yellow to the edges of the die cut petals. Set aside to dry.

I used the Spellbinders Creative Book Pages & Grand Ovals die sets to die cut the 3 pages. First, scored and folded the cardstock and then placed in the die, just shy of the back edge.

The top scallop, sponged with Distress "Seedless Preserves".

The oval, sponged with Peeled Paint and Broken China, misted with Perfect Pearls "Turquoise", dried, stamped the small butterfly flourish with Versafine Black Onyx, colored the wings with white colored pencil. Masked part of the oval to only stamp part of the circle word stamp with the black.  Sponged the back of the oval with the Broken China.

Sponged Distress Mustard Seed and Wild Honey, using the die as a mask. Stamped the vase/books and the word (Flourishes "From the Desk of" #144) with the black and colored with Prisma colored pencils. Die cut the flourish (Sizzix Tim's "Elegant Flourishes") from Core D'nations a dark brown (Elements pad) and sanded the edges. Adhered to card page cutting the flourish so it appears to fall behind the books. Punched out the butterfly (EK Success Butterfly layer Punch) from some scraps from the flower paper. Adhered to flourish and added a black rhinestone. Added clear rhinestones along the page edge.

Stamped the quote on the inside with the black. Adhered the backs of each page to each other.
