ID: MC Oct/19 - Side Fold Coloring Poinsettia - Everything Is Softer" card
size: 5"w x 7"H

Created: October 10, 2019
Modified:

I came across a gorgeously colored green poinsettia and had to imitate it done by Laura Jane using The Ton "Poinsettia Close Up" background stamp. You can see her post HERE. I don't have this particular stamp from 2017, so I hand drew my interpretation of the image. I have since made it in 4 other colors beside the green one...

Scored and folded my cream toned cardstock to create my side fold structure

Since I initially had drawn my poinsettia in September, I had scanned it and now printed it off on white cardstock. Outlined the printed image with a black Zig writer. Colored with Prisma colored pencils in soft pink and cream pencils. I love the linear coloring method. Trimmed down and adhered to an deep pink cardstock and then onto my card front. Added Liquid Pearls "Buttercup" dots to the flower center.

I'm finally doing more of my own calligraphy... sentiment done in an upright Italic style...Cherish  It has a bit of the foundational feel to it which I prefer to Italic, but not so rounded as Foundational. Don't mind me, I'm always doing things my way... done with a 3.8 Parallel pen and Sumi ink on practice paper, scanned, resized and printed on vellum. Cut into a rectangle the width of the poinsettia image and adhered at the corners with a dot of Glossy Accents, then adhered large gold nail art rhinestones with Gem-Tac.

On the inside:

Again my own calligraphy with a Zig 2.0 pen, scanned, printed on white cardstock, die cut with an oval die set, sponged with Distress Fired Brick" and adhered to inside.

Used Tim's 3D cut/emboss Holly folder. Hit the high points with the Mowed Lawn pad and colored the berries with a red pen. Adhered to inside.
