size: 6"w x 4.5"H (card flat)

Created: September 27, 2018

Suzanne came out with a bunch of new A Way With Word dies and I choose the flourished candle to play with first BIG GRIN.

I'm using an A Way With Words dies  "Flourished Candle" 5pce set from Elizabeth Craft Designs, also available on Quietfire Design HERE

And I'm using a clear sentiment stamp from Quietfire Design ("Christmas Collection" 11pce set) also available from Elizabeth Craft Designs HERE

Cut the 3 panels from a dark green textured cardstock (see diagram below for measurements. Scored each flap and the roof.

Die cut the oval from each side using Elizabeth Craft Designs "Stitched Ovals" die set. I used the smallest die from the set for each side.

I then used the 2 smallest dies together to create the white border around the die cut.

Die cut the Flourished Candle 3 times. Masked of the candle area and inked the flourish area with Versafine "Toffee" and embossed with Queen's Gold embossing powder. Masked off the flourish and the flame and inked with Distress Picket Fence and embossed with Emerald Creek "Soft Fallen Snow" embossing powder - love the texture... Colored the flame with some markers. Adhered to each cut out side.

Die cut the Holly Leaves and berry (Elizabeth Craft Designs "Holly Leaves". The leaves from a light green mirror cardstock and the berries from a deep red textured cardstock. Adhered to each cut out side.

Stamped the "Merry Christmas" on the green cardstock, inked with the Toffee and embossed with the gold. Trimmed down close to stamping and used a large corner rounder to cut the rest of the shape. Adhered to each cut side.

Adhered all the flaps to create the structure. Cut a little notch in the point and threaded my knotted Sari ribbon through the hole from the inside using a twisted/squeezed paper clip.

To cut the floor, I used the assembled lantern and a pencil, outlined the shape and cut from the green cardstock. Adhered to the bottom flaps.
