ID: MC Aug/18 - Z Block Roses - ECD Wishing You Ampersand - May Your Home card
size: 4"w x 6.5"H (card closed)
opens to 14"

Created: August 12, 2018

I've been noticing a bunch of Z Block or step cards lately on Pinterest... and thought I'd make one.

I'm using an A Way With Words dies  "Wishing You a" 3pce set and "Calligraphic Elements #2" from Elizabeth Craft Designs, also available on Quietfire Design HERE and HERE

I'm also using a quote and sentiment stamps from Quietfire Design

("Wishing You Whimsy" 4pce set); ("Home, Congratulations - May Your Home..." 5pce set)

I'm also using a otf font designed by Suzanne Cannon available on the Silhouette OnLine store. Click image to purchase.

Scored, and folded my 7"h x 14"w white cardstock to create the Z fold. Scored at 4", 7" & 11" from the left edge. Cut slits between the 7" and 11" folds at approx 1-3/5" intervals. (divide your height by 4 to get equal size boxes.) I cut about an 1/8" space between the boxes.

Created a decorative background cardstock by smoshing white cardstock through Distress Oxides on my craft mat which was misted with Perfect Pearls Mists.

When dry embossed using Crafters Companion 3D "Rambling Rose" embossing folder. Trimmed down and adhered to front.

I adhered a bunch of roses from my stash (Die Namics "Hybrid Heirloom Roses"). Love these roses.... Die cut some rose leaves from DoCraft gold metallic cardstock using Cheery Lynn "Rose Leaf" set.

Die cut the "Wishing You" from the same gold cardstock.

On the Inside: used pieces of the same Oxide background, stamping the quotes with Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossing, trimming down and adhering to inside, adding the gold metallic ampersand.

Cut pieces for the blocks and adhered.

Printed out the letters on white cardstock. Trimmed down, applied Quickie glue to the butterflies and sprinkled with a fuchsia glitter. Sponged around the edges with Distress. Adhered to steps.

Stamped the quote with the black, clear embossed , trimmed down and adhered to inside.

colored some narrow ribbon with the Distress pads and adhered as a border on top and bottom.
