ID: MC Mar/17 - Pigment BFly - ECD Believe - When You Get To The End - Always Believe card
size: 7"w x 5"h (easel closed)

Created: March 31, 2017
Modified:

I mentioned on a previous card which you can see HERE that I was recently steered to a technique I haven't tried yet using Versamark stamp pad and pigment powders... and gave it a whirl BIG GRIN

I have now expanded on that technique using it on my stamp instead... The butterfly on this card is a 5th generation stamping and then misting with water...

I'm  using an A Way With Words die from Elizabeth Craft Designs "Believe", also available on Quietfire Design HERE

And using a couple quote stamps from Quietfire Design

("When You Get To The End..."); ("Always Believe That Something...")

See bottom of page for a detailed pic of this butterfly

This butterfly was created with a 5th generation stamping... The previous images are the sequence I used, lightly misting the stamp with Tim's mini mister  each time prior stamping.

I used my Misti to do the stamping, but it's not absolutely necessary to use one for this technique.

I inked the stamp with Versamark and carefully sprinkled the Color Burst pigments ("Yellow" and "Orange" on the upper wings and "Fuchsia" and "Turquoise" on the lower wings). Used a Perfect Pearls soft bristle brush to pounce the colors (like a makeup blush brush). NOTE: Do not swirl or smudge the pigments. Misted with water and stamped, then misted the cardstock lightly to diffuse the look of the butterfly. Dried.

NOTE: not too much water or you'll just get a very watery undetailed look...

Trimmed down the butterfly piece. Stamped the quote using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed.  Sponged the edges with Distress "Brushed Corduroy" and then "Ground Espresso". Selectively embossed the writing around the edges with my hard rubber mallet using "Craft Concepts "Script" embossing folder, then lightly sanded the high points.

Scored and folded my pearlized light blue Bazzill monochromatic cardstock to create the easel. Cut another piece the same size as my front and adhered my Butterfly piece, then adhered it to the easel front.

On the floor: Die cut the "Believe" from a scrap blue cardstock. Painted with Distress dabber "Chipped Sapphire", then immediately sprinkled Emerald Creek Embossing Powder "Fractured Ice" and heat set. NOTE: this embossing powder gives such an interesting effect - you've got to try it... BIG GRIN

Adhered it to a piece of the blue cardstock and then onto the floor to act as my stopper.

Stamped the quote to the backside of the Bazill blue cardstock (smoother...) using the "Majestic Blue" and clear embossing, then die cut with Elizabeth Craft Designs "Stitched Rectangles" set. Sponged the edges with Distress "Faded Jeans" and adhered to floor with 3D foam tape.

Added a dark blue Sari ribbon bow and clear rhinestone flourishes.
