17 - Easel Bargello - ECD Thinking of You
- Friendship card
Created: January 1, 2017 If you're looking for how to use up some of your scraps... you might like to try a "Bargello" style background. Very easy to do. I'm using an A Way With Words dies or parts of dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs "Thinking Of You" also available on Quietfire Design HERE Also using a sentiment stamp from Quietfire Design ("Friendship isn't a Big Thing...");

Create your 1st
layer of the background by cutting stripes of various widths of
decorated or colored cardstock. Adhere in a pleasing arrangement and
adhere to a piece of copy paper using a glue stick or other
adhesive.
Cut across the strips as shown in pic above by the black lines. Continue cutting strips across your 1st layer. Now adhere these strips, off setting each strip by its first horizontal color. You will have created a pleasing geometric pattern. Cut, scored and folded my brown textured cardstock to create the easel Cut another piece the same size as my card front and adhered the Bargello pattern to it leaving a border all around. Die cut the "Thinking of You" from a dark blue cardstock and adhered to front |
Electronically cut the flowers and leaves on watercolor paper from silhouette images I had previously created. Stamped using Altenew "Peony Scrolls" stamp set. Painted using Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils and a paintbrush. |
On the floor: Adhered the leftover background to the floor. Adhered a flower and leaf to the floor to act as my stopper. Stamped the quote onto white cardstock using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Die cut with Elizabeth Craft Designs "Stitched Rectangles" die set. Sponged wedges with Distress "Broken China", adhered to floor. As a final touch added 3 med sized brown half pearls |
