ID: MC Sept/15 - Easel - Poinsettia - A Smile card
size: 7"w x 5"h (easel closed)

Created: September 20, 2015

The "Poinsettia" is a new die set by Elizabeth Craft Designs. Also using "Sea Glass" embossing folder.

The rubber stamp quote and sentiment are by Quietfire Design

 ("A Smile is the best..."): ("Celebrate"  4pce set);

I scored and folded my cream toned cardstock to create the easel. Cut a piece of textured cream (Bazzill Monochromatic) for my front.

Die cut the various pieces of the flower from white cardstock multiple times... The filigree part I inked with Versamark and embossed with Queen's Gold" embossing powder. The large flower shape I inked with Distress "Spun Sugar" all over and then using a point of the pad very lightly with "Picked Raspberry" to create soft streaks. The small center part I inked with the raspberry heavily and clear embossed and while the embossing was still hot, sprinkled with Crystal Snow glitter. Added amber colored pearls to their centers. The little center piece inked with "Mustard Seed" and added dots of Liquid Pearls "Buttercup".

The leaves are the large and small flower cut apart. After die cutting I scored veins using a small balled stylus. Sponged a bit of "Peeled Paint" in the vein areas. Then hit direct to paper with the peeled paint and then a touch of "Mowed Lawn".

The pot: Die cut the largest pot (Spellbinders "Flower Pots") from white cardstock. Inked the embossing folder with Perfect Medium, ran through my embossing machine and then embossed with white embossing powder. Inked the high points using Distress "Pumice Stone" and a touch of "Hickory Smoke" to create the mosaic..., clear embossed. Folded over the pot lip edge and sponged with the greys. I found the pot to big, some cut off a piece at the bottom and rounded the edges.

Adhered pot to card front and started adhering my various floral elements.

Die cut the "Wishes" from white fun foam, colored with Distress paints pumice and raspberry, dried and heat shrunk. Adhered to front using Best Ever Glue.

Stamped the sentiment using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Used the die to cut sections like the quote is sitting on a bunch of leaves. Added veins and colored as above. Adhered to card front.

On the floor: I cut a large poinsettia from fun foam and used it as a stamp, inking the same way as above, misting with water and stamping. repeating to create the background on the floor.

 Stamped the quote with the black on cream cardstock, die cut with Spellbinders oval die set, sponged lightly with the raspberry and adhered to floor with 3D foam tape.

Adhered a couple of the smaller flowers. And one to use as a stopper.

Final touch added a white satin bow to the pot using glue gun.
