ID: MC May/15 - Quill Tulips Frame Card Becca Pocket Dies - HB - The Woods  card
size:  5.5"w x 6.5"h

Modified:

I recently got some of Becca Feekan's dies that are really lovely. Got them cut out and various other elements, but it wasn't till after yesterday's quilling session that it finally all came together... BIG GRIN

I'm using a sentiment stamp and quote stamp from Quietfire Design

("Happy Birthday/Let them eat Cupcakes" 4pce set); ("The Woods Would Be Very Silent"5pce set);

I die cut Becca's dies from white cardstock. Scored and folded the pocket piece to get something approx 1/16" h. Colored with Distress pads direct to paper ("Antique Linen" & "Frayed Burlap"), embossed with Pearlescent embossing powder.

Created a frame to fit my pieces using the white cardstock, sponged with the above colors, stamped the woodgrain (Heidi Swap) using the burlap pad, then folded and glued together. Adhered my die pieces.

Embossed the birdcage background (Craft Concepts "Lovebirds") from more white cardstock, sponging and direct to paper with the antique linen and adhering to back of frame.

Adhered my various quilled pieces for the tulips.

I was demoing to my quilling friends using Brusho's and Colour Burst powdered colors on Canson Biggie w/c CP paper and since it was on my desk used the Colour Burst piece for the bird/branch. Die cut the bird (Impression Obsession), went over the leafy area with Distress mini pads direct to paper ("Crushed Olive" and "Forest Moss") - those areas were green already, but deepened the colors. The bird was left untouched... Added small and large amber toned rhinestones, a Sari ribbon bow and a metal charm which says "Happy Birthday".

Adhered my decorated frame to a kraft/brown toned textured card.

Inside left page: Die cut the tulips (Cottage Cutz "Watering Can") from another piece of the demo'ed paper. The watering can was die cut from a piece of dirty brown paper towel adhered to cardstock. I hit the high points of the texture for the trim with a red Distress pad and used a silver Ferby Metallic pencil for the spout.

Stamped the "Happy Birthday" using Versafine Black Onyx on white cardstock, clear embossed, die cut using Spellbinders "Fancy Tags #2", sponged with the Linen and added a bit of "Worn Lipstick". Adhered to card.

Added a blue butterfly from my stash which I also added Crackle Paste to.

Inside right page: Stamped the quote using Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. Then over stamped with the black. I gave it a quick spray with Krylon workable fixative since the ink wasn't dry even overnight...

Die cut the birds on branch (Joy Craft "Vintage Flourishes Birds") from another section of t hat Colour Burst paper and enhanced the branches with a brown colored pencil.
