I guess I should have checked the color sequence prior to making the card...  and I guess my memory ain't what it used to be... I thought the colors were ROY B GIN but it's actually ROY G BIV

c'est la vie...

I signed up for another online class by Jennifer McGuire "A Cut Above"- this one, dies and Silhouette. You can take only the die portion or only the Silhouette portion or all of it... I signed up for all of it. I must admit the die portion didn't have anything I have not tried, but I'm glad I have access to it anyway. I've been very frustrated with my Silhouette software and have been using Sure Cuts A Lot which I am totally happy with and it's so easy to use... But in taking this class I learnt something I'm not able to do (at least that I'm aware of) with my SCAL software. I created the file/tutorial for making this postage easel card and you can find the tutorial HERE. This tutorial will work well for other applications as well.

The rubber stamp quote  and sentiment are by Quietfire Design  and the Birthday die at Elizabeth Craft Designs or at Quietfire Design.

("Twirl & Enjoy" 3pce set); ("Tiny Christmas Wishes" 3pce set)

eCut my postage card as well as a front piece from white cardstock. Scored and folded to create the easel.

Stamped the large lacy sea-fan (Starving Artistamps) onto a Brusho decorated piece of TerraSkin "paper" using Versafine Black Onyx. Fussy cut around it.

Stamped the seahorse (Designs by Ryn "Sea Creatures 1 set") onto pale pink Iris Shimmer Sheetz, carefully heat embossed with clear embossing powder and fussy cut around it. Added the iridescent pearl for the eye and adhered with Glossy Accents.

Stamped the shell with the black on white cardstock and colored with Prisma colored pencils. Added a thin layer of Distress Stickles "Crystal ice" on the inside of the shell using my finger.

Used some post its to mask off the edges and sponged with Distress "Tumbled Glass" and "Broken China"

Stamped the seascape scene (Old Island) using the black with the post it masks in place.

Colored the rainbow onto a separate piece of white cardstock using the colored pencils, then just cut around it and adhered it to the front piece. Used my punch to punch out the overlapping scallops. (should have cut another front piece...)

Adhered my sea elements and used 3D foam tape under the seahorse.

Stamped the postage amount and the title with the black using Just Rite alphabet stamp sets.

Adhered to the front of my easel card.

On the floor I adhered a piece of beige Ruche cardstock to mimic sand.

I had designed a smaller stamp (2"square) from white cardstock and stamped with the quote stamps. using the black, clear embossed. Added the postage amount and masked off the edges, then sponging with the blues. Adhered to floor.

Masked off the rest of the Xmas sentiment to ink only the word "wishes" using the black on white cardstock. Trimmed down and cut an arrow tip. Inked the edges and sponged around with the blues. Attached a large square blue brad and adhered to floor using 3D foam tape.

Die cut the "Happy Birthday" sentiment 7 times from every color in the rainbow, then cut off the "Happy" part... Adhered them together slightly offset, then on to the card floor.

Stamped the mermaid (Fairy Song "Seaside Dreamer") using the black, colored with Prisma colored pencils, fussy cut around it adding little tabs to use as my stopper. Adhered to floor.
