ID: MC Mar/14 - Side Easel The Doors You Open - HB card
size: 5"w x 7"h (closed)

I'm loving making side easels... I wonder why I was so resistant to them at first.

I'm also using a sentiment & Quote stamp from Quietfire Design

I cut, scored and folded my white cardstock.

Window: clear Graffix .007 plastic, Dreamweaver stencil #LJ811 and translucent paste spread onto plastic, and while paste was wet and stencil still adhered to my plastic, sprinkled with glitter (Premium Fashion Glitter). Allowed the paste to semi dry and then removed the stencil. Set the plastic aside to finish drying.

The woodgrain front was white cardstock embossed with Spellbinders m'bossibilities (woodgrain/brick) folder. Sponged Distress "Old Paper" all over then hit the high points with "Gathered Twigs". Cut another piece of white cardstock, same size as woodgrain piece to sandwich my clear plastic between. Cut an opening in both layers. Cut the plastic piece from above down to size (only used 3 x 3 window openings) and adhered to white layer, then adhered the woodgrain layer and adhered all of this onto front flap of card.

The flowers were die cut from gelli plate prints I made the other day using dye ink pads, stencils, misted with water etc. The poppy die (Sizzix Susan's Garden) I picked up a couple months ago. The purple blossoms are a new die (Spellbinders "Bloom 3") that I really love. Used a large balled stylus and a mat to shape the petals prior adhering all the elements. The stamen pieces I added Viva Pearl Pen brown dots to their ends. The center of the poppy is a large glob of glue and pressed with gold mini beads. The yellow centers of the purple flowers is another glob of glue with yellow Flower Soft. I also misted the poppies with Perfect Pearls "Perfect Pearls" mist. The leaves are from my stash and also shaped.

Inside

Happy Birthday through front window (detail)

The floor: stamped the image (Impression Obsession CAC "Ornate Floral") with Perfect Medium and applied Pan Pastels in a fuchsia, and various metallics. Applied translucent Dreamweaver paste through he same window stencil as above. Removed stencil and set aside to dry. When dry, trimmed it down and adhered the lace ribbon to either end (like a carpet runner...), then adhered to floor of card.

Stamped the quote with Versafine "Vintage Sepia" on white cardstock, clear embossed and die cut with Spellbinders oval die set and sponged with a dirty purple sponge. Adhered to floor using Scrapbook Adhesives large foam squares (2 layers to really raise it up)

Stamped the sentiment with Versafine "Black Onyx" and clear embossed. Die cut with Spellbinders "Fancy Tags" set and sponged with the purple sponge. Adhered to floor and added rhinestone gems. (the sentiment is visible through the window layer).

I had an extra purple flower, so adhered it to the floor with a few leaves.
