ID: MC Feb/14 - Side Easel Life is a Pure Flame HB card
size: 5"w x 5"h (Easel closed)

Created: February 21, 2014
Modified:

I've finally gotten around to making a side easel card... I was prodded after seeing one my friend made...

I'm also using a  quote & sentiment stamp from Quietfire Design

I scored my 10"h cardstock to make a standard 5 x 5" card. Then I scored the upper piece along the diagonal from upper right to lower left and folded it. Adhered a green piece of scrapbook cardstock on the front half diamond. I used the same scrapbook cardstock and adhered a piece to the back side.

I love these leaf stamps (part of a Penny Black "Every Happiness" set). I stamped them on white cardstock using Versafine "Spanish Moss" and embossed with Lindy's Stamp Gang "Oakleaf Olive" embossing powder. Drew a thick black line around the edges with a Lumocolor pen, then trimmed it down. Adhered it to another white piece of cardstock and trimmed that down.

I die cut the lattice piece (Memory Box "Levington Border", from white cardstock, inked with Versafine Black Onyx and embossed with black embossing powder. adhered to my card front. Then adhered a piece of satin green ribbon. The adhered my leaf pieces using a double layer of 3D foam tape.

Stamped my quote with the black and clear embossed.

Added faux stitching with a black fine tip marker.

Adhered the buttons with Golden's extra heavy gel medium, tying a green metallic string through the holes. Used a sanding block to sand some of the green off the scrapbook cardstock and around the edges to give more of distress guy kind of look...

On the floor of the easel I added a piece of green Ruche cardstock.

Stamped the sentiment with the black on white cardstock and die cut with Nellie Snellen's "Multi Frame" die set. Scanned the shape and eCut a shadow of the shape. Sponged that with the Olive and adhered the two together, then on to the card floor with 3D foam tape. Added more faux stitching around the edge.
