size: 5"w x 7"h

I've seen these double fringe flowers a few times, tried them and gotten totally frustrated and always put them aside. Today I finally sat down and thought about it and, your guessed it, finally succeeded... Not saying it's easy, but at least it's doable. BIG GRIN

I'm also using one of the newest stamps from Quietfire Design, .

I folded my yellow paper, sponged the folded edge with Distress Worn Lipstick, then cut to the height I wanted, for the smaller flowers it was approx 1" folded in half.

Some of the tricks I learned:
a) after cutting the slits, at least at a 45º angle, I open my paper and stretched the design so the would be petals would open more easily when coiling.
b) when starting the coil, I glued the end so it was off set by about a 1/4" which forces the petals open.
c) when coiling, I'm pulling the side I'm gluing to my tight coil taught. I'm not hanging on to the folded back side. This also forces the petals to open up.
Hope these tips help you.

Embossed my side folded white card using Sizzix, Tim's Bricked embossing folder, embossing several times to cover the whole card front. Sponged some of the red all around.

I die cut my window (Memory Box "Madison" large) from black cardstock. Used the window to outline my card front to cut the opening. Stamped the pattern (Hero Arts "Bead Bkgr'd") onto a pink toned vellum and embossed with pearlescent embossing powder. Adhered to back of window, then onto card front.

Adhered my quilled flowers. Die cut the leaves (Cheery Lynn "Pair of Ferns") from some scrap decorated paper I had made recently and adhered to card.

Stamped the quote onto white cardstock using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Die cut (Marianne Designs CR1242) from white cardstock, sponged the edges with the red.

Final touch added the red rhinestones to the flower centers.
