I recently got a few Holbein watercolors - had to replenish my "Opera" which was running low... but bought a few others and of course had to try them out. So I grabbed a piece of cheapie watercolor paper and just laid down colors randomly, wetting and spritzing etc... put it aside to dry overnight. When I looked at it the next day, I really liked the colors, but decided it wouldn't work for a calligraphy piece I had initially wanted to make, so die cut them with my favorite flourishes dies from Dee's Distinctively. I have a WHOLE bunch of them just laying on some white paper, until I could get some inspiration to use them. Were heading in to another FRIGID cold spell, so I was really in a mood to have some fun colors.

I used a Thanks sentiment stamp from Quietfire Design

I used Dee's Distinctively "Flourishes 1 & 3" die sets

The card base is the excess from a previous card hence the odd size. When I make landscape mode side folded cards from 8.5" x 11" cardstock, I off set the front piece (4") leaving the inside piece 7"w, and cut off the excess to have a 5"h card.

I adhered 2 strips of Ruche white cardstock (from some scraps I had laying on my table...). Even pulled out the scraps in the garbage from the watercolor paper to cut that narrow strip. ROFL.

Stamped the sentiment with Versafine Black Onyx and die cut with Spellbinders Labels Four. Sponged some Distress yellows around the edges.

I wanted a small bordered under piece, and I usually just use the die and cut around the edges - I was lazy this time and decided to scan ,y die cut and electronically cut my under layer. So much easier... Sponged it with a dirty pink sponge that had Picked Raspberry on it.

Started adhering the flourishes. The one that's on the edge of the front flap has a matching back piece adhered to it so it looks nice from either side.

Stamped the background text stamp (Local King Rubber "Happiness") using Versafine "Vintage Sepia", then continued adhering the flourishes.

as a final touch add the two white half pearls.
