This is that other background I mentioned in a previous Lemon post. I got this Impression Obsession background stamp "Logs" CC162 and was looking at it and said it reminded me of orange or lemon slices... but after getting home realized I would need an intermediate step to achieve the look I was aiming for...

I used the "The Secret of Genius..." quote stamp from Quietfire Design

I stamped the background stamp onto a piece of white cardstock and scanned it, then manipulated it to get me a kind of stencil/silhouette image. Cut it out with my electronic cutter.

Inked up the stamp with  Distress "Persimmon". Placed my stencil over the stamp and then placed my cardstock over that. Pressed down with my fingers to get the inked stamp through the stencil opening. Removed the stamp and inked up through my stencil using Versamark. Removed the stencil and clear embossed. Used Distress Stains "Stormy Sky" all over. Cut it with my EK Success circle scissor and cut the orange under layer slightly larger. Adhered the two together.

I adhered a piece of dark blue cardstock, edge to edge on my cream toned main card. Ran through my embossing machine with Sizzix "Retro Circles" folder, then adhered my circle piece.

Did the two upper quotes in calligraphy using a 1.5mm Parallel Pen and a script I'm practicing... using Sumi Ink on our Guild's white practice paper. Trimmed it down and adhered to a blue then an orange cardstock, then onto the card.

The bottom quote is part of a calligraphy stamp from Quietfire Design, stamped with Versafine Black Onyx, clear embossed and layered onto the blue and orange cardstock then onto the card. the other part of the stamp is done the same way and adhered to the inside.

I inked up the Birthday stamp with an orange and a blue chalk pad using a piece of cardstock to keep the colors separated. Sponged Distress Persimmon & Stormy Sky to continue the colors to the edges of the card.
