I seem to be in a mixed media frame of mind recently... Beats me why.

 Using my favorite "Happy Birthday" stamp from Quietfire Design .

I started cleaning up my upstairs spill over room and came across this piece of tissue paper...

Lay a thin layer of Golden's Polymer Medium onto some white cardstock, then pressed my Kleenex into the wetness and used a piece of release paper to press down more firmly. Allowed to dry, then applied a layer of medium on top. Allowed that to dry.

Smeared Distress pads over the texture in dark browns, then sponged Metallic Pan pastels wherever it would catch on some stickiness.

Side folded my cream card and adhered the background. Wove and adhered slivers from my scrap pile. Tied knots in some dark brown thick twine and adhered that with PVA glue and weighted it down until dry.

Die cut the feathers (Sizzix Tim's Bigz die and Movers & Shapers die) from white cardstock. Used a fine tipped stylus to add feather/vein lines, then swiped a Distress pad over the feather. One in "Peacock Feathers" with a touch of brown, one in "Mustard Seed" and the last in "Wild Honey" with a touch of Persimmon. Adhered them together and then wrapped & tied a gold thread around them and onto the knotted cord. The feathers hang loose...

Assembled some beads on wire and strung through the loose thread ends.

Stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock and cut out with Nellie's "Rectangle 3" die set. Sponged some blue and green around the edges and adhered to card with 3D foam tape.
