size: 5"w x 7"h

At my last quilling session, someone started to do a husked quilled butterfly - yup you guessed it... so I had to start making one, but without the husking. BIG GRIN Definitely took a while,, but for me a lot easier than husking. Not sure why I have an aversion to that technique, but I will usually work around it... I just wrapped my quill paper around a 1" ruler and then added a few shorter loops on either side to create one of the top wings. Of course I then had to be able to duplicate it for the other wing. I was ROFL... but as it turns out, I was able to accomplish that.

I'm also using a favorite quote stamp from Quietfire Design

I side folded my white card, stamped the large daisy flower (Stampendous "Jumbo Daisy") with Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Colored the flower with Prisma colored pencils. Then cut around the flower.

Stamped the quote with the black and clear embossed.

Assembled my butterfly and adhered to card with Golden's Extra Heavy Gel Medium.

Love the picot edges on the lower wings. The body was made from twisted tissue paper painted with acrylic paints (paper cord...) and then wrapped with a black quill paper. I added floral stems for the antennae.
