Swirls - Noel card
Created: September 3, 2011 This was a real evolving card... I just got some Tsukineko Goosebumps spray and had to try it. And one of the challenges I'll be entering is "swirls" and another is red, white & black" and this is the result. I'm also using the horizontal version of the Versals "Noel" from Quietfire Design . |

I really like this Goosebumps spray.
Has a lot of potential. I ran a piece of white cardstock through my
machine with the Swirls folder from Sizzix #656645 set. Sponged
Distress Worn Lipstick in several areas, leaving a lot of white, and
then did a mild spritz with the Goosebumps, dried, continued with
sponging and Direct to Paper with Barn Door, wiped the area with a
damp paper towel, spritzed and dried, and a final sponging of Black
Soot, and wiped with a damp paper towel.
I trimmed the piece down, it just wouldn't work using the large piece, bummer... The scalloped edging is an EK Success Large Edger punch "Le Circles" #54-50021. I did one side, trimmed down and did the other side to get full circles. Direct to paper with Worn Lipstick and embossed with Old Island "Red Dragon" embossing powder. Cut down the center of the circles and adhered one to ether edge of the Goosebumps piece. Punched medium holes in 3 of the scallops for my hanging ornaments. Ornaments are punched out 1" circles (Martha Stewart punch), smeared with Liqutex Glass Beads, left to dry overnight, then edged and swirled with either Ranger's Black Enamel Accents or Liquid Pearls "Rouge", and dried. Tied black very thin ribbon through the holes of the scallops, then to the backs of the circles. Main card is white, then a layer of glossy black paper, then a layer of my metallic white embossed paper I bought recently, punched with Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page "Double Loops" #42-60002 punch. Stamped the hanging ornaments (Lili of the Valley "Christmas Baubles" #ST225) with Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Adhered the swirls piece, used 3D pop dots for the circle ornaments, stamped the word "Noel" with the black and added some small white half pearls to the flourish on the "N" On the inside I repeated the stamping of the Christmas Baubles and added 1/2" strips of the swirls piece. |
