How many resist techniques have I done this year... sheesh.

I recently came across a pretty calligraphic piece that basically had a word masked or maybe as a stencil and then a bunch of Xmas type linear type drawings or stamping around/over, leaving the word untouched. It just hit me. I have so many bold alphabet stamps that would work wonderfully with this technique.

I'm using the "Italic" alphabet set from Quietfire Design - both lower and upper case for the word "Winter"

So I arranged the letter stamps - this way and that - (psst- you don't have to think if they're all lined up straight...) and inked it up with a Perfect Medium pad, stamped on glossy paper, and clear embossed. PS - make sure your stamps are clean...

I then sponged Distress (Stormy Sky, Chipped Sapphire & Dusty Concord) all over, wiping the excess off the letters.  I used a post it as a mask to create the mountains.

I masked the edge under the words with post it notes and stamped my fir trees (various Old Island stamps) with Black Soot, stamping them at different heights.  Ironed of the embossing on the "winter" word between a couple sheets of clean newsprint.

Stamped the sentiment using Just Rite Curlz alphabet stamp set and Versafine majestic Blue and clear embossing. Added little holographic dots to separate my words.

Trimmed down my larger piece with a deckle edge rotary cutter. Die cut the bottom border from white cardstock using the Parisian Accents border. Placed a layer of white glue on the border and sprinkled with Stampendous "Crystal Snow".

Adhered the pieces to a dark blue side folded card. Added the Peel Off silver snow flakes. Used a EK Success Snowflake border punch and Teal blue circles Peel Off to create the other snowflakes.
