I watched a video that Tim Holtz did on his blog yesterday and was inspired to try something. I only have 2 Distress Stains "Antique Linen" & "Spun Sugar". Not the greatest combination of colors to try what I wanted, but did anyway and am so happy with the results. Who would of thunk... I added some Distress reinker "Black Soot", just a tiny drop and a little streak here and there, misted with water, tilted a bit and dried. and I had a beautiful winter scene spring up.

I'm also using an Xmas sentiment stamp from Quietfire Design

I had done the distress technique on a long thin scrap of cardstock I had lying around, so hence the long narrow card... I stamped several tree images all with the Versafine Black Onyx - the background bunch of little fir trees and the bare trees on the left (Local King Rubber "Tree 2"), the large fir trees in the background on the right (Old Island). The fir tree in the foreground (Old Island #626D) was also embossed with Magnolia embossing powder. I added some Liquid Pearls in an opal color for the snow.

Adhered the panel to a burgundy toned textured cardstock.

The Xmas stamp was repeated down the left side with the black and embossed with a mix of clear and Queen's Gold, which gave a nice coloring to the stamped words.
